Srey Reachea was the younger brother of King Norayon Raja (the eldest son of King Ponhea Yat. The western part of the territory lost by the Siamese was swallowed up by the past.

He organized the provincial, municipale, district, and commune authorities to be strong and to build a strong army, both land and sea, as well as logistics, food, and reserve troops to be strong and skilled. In 1475,Srey Reach declared war to liberate the Khmer lands that the Siamese had taken back during the previous reign. He led the army on his own and appointed Srey Suryotoy as a nephew to the army and to collect food to support the battle, while Dharmaraja, the viceroy and younger brother, was assigned to guard the capital of Chaktomuk. The Khmer national army, led by the king himself, headed west anddrove the Siamese invaders out of Khmer territory and occupied all the territories that the Siamese had swallowed, such as Nakhon Ratchasima, West Borei,Rayong , and Chanthaburi. In the battle for the liberation of the above provinces, the King was very happy to see the Khmer people living there rise up together with the National Army to defeat the enemy and swallow up all the land from the motherland. The glorious victory of that battle prompted the Khmer king to decide to crush the Siamese army at the same time. After making such a decision, he organized an army to invade as far as Ayutthaya. Ayutthaya was besieged, he wished to dissolve the capital. But at that time, Duke Charkri Morn, the army chief, died on the battlefield after being severely wounded, and as the Khmer army weakened, the plan to dissolve the Siamese capital was thwarted. At the same time, the Khmer dynasty crisis erupted. Thus, the plan to liberate the western provinces that the Siamese had invaded in the past had to be scrapped.
